What we must agree upon

If you choose to use the services of Annie’s Door, it is of utmost importance to read this disclaimer. The disclaimer itself might seem a little harsh, but it is important to be very clear about both of our positions.

Annie’s Door is a safe, non-judgmental environment that provides you with helpful information and action choices that will help you recover from significant emotional loss.

As a representative of Annie’s Door, I have been well trained in this helping profession but am not a licensed counsellor; however, I have a passion and deep commitment to listen and support you and your specific needs. This support is not a substitute for professional counselling; if needed, I will provide you with a referral to a licensed counsellor or therapist.

You are also giving Annie’s Door access to your email address only for the purpose of arranging for Skype support or answer any pertinent questions relating to that support. Any other access would be in error only and should be taken as that. It would be rectified immediately.

Your email and responses are confidential. As in any one-on-one therapy, if there are threats to your safety, the safety of others, child protection issues or suicidal or homicidal thoughts, I will have no choice but to contact the authorities. These issues would override the issues of confidentiality.

At any time, Annie’s Door reserves the right to terminate service if misleading information is given by the client.
